Umar Kamani, a relatively unknown celebrity, was recently seen hanging out with Chris Brown and Snoop Dogg, which shocked social media people. Kamani and his siblings, Nurez and Rabia, sold a total of 36.6 million shares in June 2017. He raised an additional £50 million by selling over £80 million worth of Boohoo shares and placing 22.7 million new shares. The money raised will go toward the construction of a “supersite” warehouse.
Boohoo stock recovered in April 2018 after the brand PrettyLittleThing doubled sales. Boohoo owns a 66 percent stake in the company. Boohoo bought Arcadia brands Dorothy Perkins, Wallis, and Burton out of administration for £25.2 million in February 2021. Boohoo has acquired the companies’ e-commerce and digital assets, as well as the intellectual property rights that go with them.
