Sam Shelton is 41 years old charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, one count of kidnapping, he worked as a teacher at Freeburg High School and was in a relationship with 15 years old Ashley Reeves, and during that time he was 26 years old. Ashley Reeves was groomed by Sam Shelton and he attacked and later dumped her at a Belleville park but was discovered after 30 hours. On April 27, 2006, Ashley leaves the home for an Interview but never returned home, her parents reported her missing but St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department found Ashley’s car in the local park. Sam Shelton and Ashley were in the car and the teacher said he decided to end the relationship and dragged her out of his car by placing her in a chokehold. He broke her neck, tried to strangle her with a belt, and then left her for dead in Citizen’s Park in Belleville Illinois.
After 30 hours she was discovered, but she was unable to talk or move after a remarkable recovery she now can get around in a wheelchair. Samson Shelton pleads guilty to first-degree attempted murder and he is eligible for parole in 2024.
